I'll start off by saying that I loved this series, even more so than the Farseer Trilogy (although out f the 6 books I still find Assassin's Apprentice to be the best). I mean, you' re of course quite right that “fitz” means “son of” in (for lack of a better word) this universe, but my impression of it in the Farseer universe was always pejorative; I never had the idea that Verity overlooked Fitz's illegitimacy. Usually, they don't give away free shit If you read the first few chapters — as Amazon allows you to do for free with most of the Kindle books — you might not bother to continue. Assassin's Apprentice (Farseer Trilogy #1) is about Fitz Chivalry Farseer, bastard son of King-to-be Chivalry, and about how he became a King's Man and assassin. The first book in this series will be Assassin's Apprentice. June's book will And our first series read along will be: The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb. This book is a sequel to Assassin's Apprentice which I read a couple of years ago. But I kept having to remind myself that he was still just a boy in this book – by the end of this first part of the trilogy he is not in this country and time period of an age to vote, drink, or serve in the armed forces. This book is so pathetic that I didn't have the stomach to complete the entire book. I had enjoyed it, but not nearly as much Her stye of writing in the Farseer Trilogy takes some getting used to.
